Perc Adamson was first appointed playing
coach of Greensborough in 1952.
In that year he led the team to a Premiership
after finishing 2nd in 1951. Perc was again
Playing Coach in 1953 and then continued
as a player until retiring at the age of 37.
He possessed a raking left foot drop-kick
and was very fast winning the
Greensborough Gift on one occasion. He
could play at either Centre Half Forward
or Centre Half Back. Perc was a member of
the DVFL representative side, Captaining and
Coaching the team on numerous occasions.
He was widely regarded as an outstanding
player and is still recognised as one of
the best players to compete in the DVFL.
Ian Adamson played for Greensborough in
all three grades ie Under 17's, Reserves
and Seniors over a period of approx
10 years. He played around 50 Senior games.
He was a Ruckman (189cm) with a big leap
and the ability to take some spectacular
marks.
Leigh Adamson began his career with
Greensborough at the age of 13 in the
Under 17's. He broke into the Reserves
(6 games) followed by the Seniors
(6 games) in 1952 at the age of 16. In 1963
Lee played a full season in the Seniors on
the Half Back Flank alongside the legendary
Joe Murphy and finished 3rd in the
Best & Fairest. He then journeyed to
Collingwood where he played from
1964 to 1973. Lee coached Montmorency
for 4 years as Playing Coach (1975-1979)
leading them to a Premiership in 1976 and
runners up in 1977/1978. He was non
Playing Coach in 1995/1996.
